Senior Trump advisor Stephen Miller, who is expected to play a significant role in shaping immigration policy, previewed the new administration’s aggressive slate of day one executive orders during the president-elect’s victory rally in downtown Washington D.C. on Tuesday.

Miller laid out specifics for some of nearly  200 executive actions expected on day one, many of which will pertain to the illegal immigration crisis, while speaking with a group of Senior GOP leaders on Sunday afternoon. According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, one of the most significant day one executive orders will pertain to the crisis along the nation’s southern border with Mexico, as Trump is expected to declare a national emergency.

The incoming president is also expected to slash a number of Biden directives pertaining to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) policies in the federal government and remove Biden-era restrictions concerning offshore drilling on federal land, according to multiple lawmakers who were briefed on the call.

As part of Trump’s plan to overhaul the federal government and workforce, he plans to rewrite hiring procedures for employees and create a new process for firing others. To that end, the president-elect is expected to sign an executive order, known as Schedule F, which he initially issued in October 2020. The Biden Administration opted to block the order, which would have restricted job protections for federal workers.

One lawmaker briefed on the call told The Journal that a majority of Trump’s day one executive orders will be “border heavy.” The incoming president has long vowed to reinstitute the “remain in Mexico” policy, which required perspective asylum seekers to wait outside the country while their claims are processed. He is also expected to reinstate policies, which allows the federal government to take emergency action in numerous ways, including to “stop the introduction of communicable diseases.”

While the code has been in place for decades, The Trump Administration widely used it as a tool to curb illegal immigration during the COVID-19 pandemic. The policy allowed border agents to turn would-be asylum seekers away in order to curb the spread of infectious diseases.

Biden rescinded “Remain in Mexico” as part of his own flurry of day one executive orders, while the administration allowed Title 42 to expire. Miller previously stated that both policies will be re-introduced while meeting with Republican Senators last week.

Trump is further expected to take aggressive action against drug cartels, which he intends to designate as foreign terrorist organizations and restrict known members and affiliates from entering the United States. While details are scarce on the details of the policy as of this report, it is expected to somewhat model his travel ban directives from 2017, which restricted entry to the United States from a number of dangerous and unstable countries.

While speaking at the official Trump Victory Rally in Washington D.C. on Sunday, Miller brought down the house with a rousing speech on the incoming administration’s agenda and plans for day one executive orders.

“Donald Trump nearly lost his life on a stage in Butler, Pennsylvania, and then again a few short weeks later. And no matter what they threw at him, no matter the danger, no matter the horrors, no matter the abuse, no matter the corruption, the persecution, no matter how much the broken system tried to stop that man, he would not be stopped. stopped because he has always been fighting for you,” Miller, who will serve as White House deputy chief of staff for policy, said on the eve of Trump’s second inauguration.

“He has always been fighting for all of us. And what is that going to look like come Monday afternoon? It’s going to mean an executive order ending the border invasion, sending the illegals home and taking America back. It’s going to mean the eradication of the criminal cartels and the foreign gangs who are preying on our people,” Miller continued, drawing cheers from the crowd.

“And it’s going to mean justice for every American citizen who has lost a loved one to an illegal alien. It’s going to mean justice for Laken Riley. It’s going to mean justice for Jocelyn Nungary. It’s going to mean justice for every precious soul stolen from us by Joe Biden’s open border. Accountability is coming. Justice is coming
