Former FEC Commissioner Gives Alvin Bragg Bad News—Case Closed?
Things seem to be going from bad to worse for Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg and his witch hunt against the 45th President of the United States.
According to former Federal Elections Commissioner Hans von Spakovsky, Bragg has no jurisdiction to bring this type of campaign finance violation case against President Trump—he doesn’t have the authority.
Aside from this, the case has very little merit or substance, regardless of jurisdiction, as pointed out by Spakovsky and others.
Bragg recently went on the defensive, as GOP lawmakers, led by Jim Jordan, continue to win court battles against him and now have the option of deposing a former member of Bragg’s office. …
The Manhattan district attorney has been accused of engaging in prosecutorial misconduct on multiple fronts, including withholding hundreds of pages of exculpatory evidence.
Needless to say, things aren’t going well for Bragg or his case. …Will it all be over soon?
Let’s hope so, for now, here are the latest developments:
“It’s an extremely dubious prosecution,” said Spakovsky.@HvonSpakovsky, a former commissioner of the @FEC, said that the @ManhattanDA’s office has no authority to “enforce federal campaign finance” laws against former President Trump. https://t.co/6mmBfSjgD9

The Epoch Times writes:
Von Spakovsky, now the manager of the Heritage Foundation’s Election Law Reform Initiative, said that Bragg is targeting the 45th president for alleged federal election crimes that aren’t within his authority to prosecute.
A number of other legal experts, including George Washington University Jonathan Turley, have made similar statements as Trump was indicted for allegedly falsifying business records in connection to payments made during the 2016 campaign.

Spakovsky told Just The News:
“No local state prosecutor has the authority to enforce federal campaign finance crimes in the first place,” he explained.
“There’s just nothing from a factual and legal standpoint to this case. But I don’t think this prosecutor cares about that.
What he’s counting on is that he’s in Manhattan. Manhattan is one of the most liberal jurisdictions in the country.
I think he believes that he can get a liberal jury to convict Trump, no matter what the facts are and no matter what the law is.”
