BREAKING: “If I Had Known In 2020…” Fauci Admits To Blood Boiling Admission, “Back Then We Were Not…”

President Joe Biden’s chief medical adviser, Dr. Anthony Fauci, said that he would have done things differently at the beginning of 2020 when the pandemic first broke out.

Fauci runs the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and has since the early 1980s.

Fauci told The Hill’s “Rising” program that if he “knew in 2020 what I know now, we would do a lot differently because back then we were not sure of a number of things.”

Fauci mentioned that he would have recommended universal masking much earlier in the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We know now, two and a half years later, that anywhere from 50 percent to 60 percent of the transmission occurs from someone without symptoms, either someone who never will get symptoms or someone who is in the pre-symptomatic stage,” Fauci said.

He mentioned he would have wanted to be more stringent with protocols.

“Had we known that then, the insidious nature of spread in the community would have been much more of an alarm, and there would have been much, much more stringent restrictions in the sense of very, very heavy, encouraging people to wear masks, physical distancing or what have you,” he noted.

However, Fauci told “60 Minutes” in February 2020 that “there’s no reason to be walking around with a mask.”

He told CBS News, “When you’re in the middle of an outbreak, wearing a mask might make people feel a little bit better, and it might even block a droplet, but it’s not providing the perfect protection that people think that it is.”

It wasn’t long after those statements that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention started to urge Americans to wear masks.

Soon after that, Fauci claimed that wearing two masks was better than wearing one.

“If you have a physical covering with one layer, you put another layer on, it just makes common sense that it likely would be more effective,” he told NBC News.

In the interview with “Rising”, Fauci said that scientists just didn’t understand the value of masking at the time.

“I think the masking situation is one that is really critical that would have been done differently. First of all, we did not fully appreciate that a well-fitted K95 or NK95 mask is much, much better than a cloth mask and to wear a good mask, the data now is very clear that masks are very good at preventing both the acquisition of and transmission of infection,” Fauci said.

However, there has been much confusion in the debate about cloth masks and N95 masks. Early in the pandemic, propel were afraid that hospitals and healthcare workers would be without their proper protection if all Americans were required to wear N95 masks.

Fauci once said cloth masks were effective in stopping the spread

“Now we have masks, and we know that you don’t need an N95 if you’re an ordinary person in the street.”

“Masks are not 100% protective,” Fauci added. “However, they certainly are better than not wearing a mask.”

Fauci recently said he will be retiring at the end of President Biden’s term.
