Trump Plans To Skip Debate To Do Something Even BIGGER

Share

Trump on Thursday night made it clear he’s not going to be on the debate stage on August 23rd.

In a Truth Social post, the 45th president wrote “Many people are asking whether or not I will be doing the DEBATES? ALL AMERICANS have been clamoring for a President of extremely High Intelligence.”

He went on to write “As everyone is aware, my Poll numbers, over a “wonderful” field of Republican candidates, are extraordinary. In fact, I am leading the runner-up, whoever that may now be, by more than 50 Points. Reagan didn’t do it, and neither did others.”

So now that Trump is free on the 23rd, what will he do instead?

Several insiders from inside Trump’s camp have revealed that Trump and Tucker Carlson are in talks to do an interview on the same day the RNC will have their debate on Fox News.

Check out what the Post Millennial reported:

President Donald Trump plans to skip the GOP debate and instead take an interview with Tucker Carlson. Trump is the frontrunner by double digits in the 2024 GOP presidential primary, and some polls show him beating President Joe Biden in a general election.

“When you’re leading by seemingly insurmountable numbers, and you have hostile Networks with angry, Trump and MAGA hating anchors asking the ‘questions,’ why subject yourself to being libeled and abused?” Trump said earlier this year on Truth Social.

Sources familiar with the former president’s plan to skip the debate told the New York Times he will instead be doing an interview online with Tucker Carlson, who streams his shows on X (formerly Twitter).

On Thursday Trump gave an inkling as to his plan for the debate on Truth Social, saying, “Reagan didn’t do it, and neither did others. People know my Record, one of the best ever, so why would I debate?”

Per The New York Times:

Former President Donald J. Trump plans to upstage the first Republican primary debate on Wednesday by sitting for an online interview with the former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, according to multiple people briefed on the matter.

In the past 24 hours, Mr. Trump has told people close to him that he has made up his mind and will skip the debate in Milwaukee, according to two of the people briefed on the matter.

Mr. Trump is notoriously mercurial, and left himself something of an out to change his mind with an ambiguous post on his website, Truth Social, on Thursday. He wrote that he’s polling well ahead of his rivals and added, “Reagan didn’t do it, and neither did others. People know my Record, one of the BEST EVER, so why would I Debate?”
