Jan 6: Shocking! Revelation About The Lies of The IG of DHS

Share

Criticisms have been flying around since last week as news broke that office of the IG investigating the Secret Service’s missing text knew more than they let on to the public. The Inspector General of the DHS, Joseph Cuffari, has attracted the suspicion of the people with his actions regarding this occurrence.

Despite strict warnings that records of text messages should be preserved, these texts before and during the attack on the Capitol still managed to vanish mysteriously. This preservation rule was put in place in cases of “serious or flagrant problems, abuses, or deficiencies relating to the administration of programs and operations.”

Reports have it that the IG’s office knew that the Secret Service had gotten rid of text messages of certain agents from the 5th and 6th of January 2021. This action by the Secret Service was apparently because of a mix-up when the agents involved got their phones replaced with new ones.

Since February, Cuffari’s office was aware of this fact and withheld this information from Congress till earlier this month. In addition, Cuffari also failed to issue a warning to the public last fall that the production of the Service’s records would be delayed though he had considered that possibility.

Another similar scenario happened with the text messages of the DHS leaders in December 2021. The Secret Service again had alerted Cuffari’s office about the agency’s deletion of thousands of texts belonging to agents and employers in an agency-wide reset of government phones. Ignoring several requests for these records, Cuffari’s office still refused to inform Congress until about seven months.

The public had expressed displeasure about Cuffari’s actions as he did not try to recover those lost text messages for several months when he had digital forensic experts at his Service.

Furthermore, text messages from Trump’s former head of DHS Chad Wolf and the deputy chief Ken Cuccinelli pre-January 6 have also vanished into thin air. These particular text messages were crucial as they could have shed light on Trump’s plans as he had been pressuring both men to claim that the 2020 election was rigged and undemocratic.

Regarding this situation, the House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Bennie G. Thompson had said in a statement: “It is extremely troubling that the issue of deleted text messages related to the Jan 6 attack on the Capitol is not limited to the secret Service, but also includes Chad Wolf and Ken Cuccinelli, who was running at the time.” She continued, saying, “If the Inspector General had informed Congress, we might have been able to get better records from Senior administration officials regarding one of the most tragic days in our democracy’s history.”

None of the two men directly responded to the public’s requests for their comments or their side of the story. However, Wolf had only tweeted to clear his name of any suspicion.

This destruction of texts by the department continues to become more mysterious as the story unfolds. The way all records of these texts have disappeared and the IG’s extremely late report of the incident suggests that there might be more to this story than we now know. The public has raised questions about if the IG’s actions could be described as negligence or deliberate obstruction of justice for their sakes. As Usual, President Joe Biden will let Cuffari get away with this.
