Singer Stuns Reporter At The Grammys, Praises Trump’s Deportations
Singer Joy Villa left a reporter and likely a healthy portion of the liberal viewing audience at the Grammy Awards show on Sunday evening shocked after she made comments in support of President Donald Trump’s mass deportation of illegal migrants in the United States.
“I don’t want to see them here,” Villa told the reporter, referring to illegal immigrants who have criminal records comprised of various acts of violence and theft, among many other heinous offenses. The singer was sporting a red trucker cap inspired by Trump’s “Make America Great Again” cap at the event.
Just a few days prior to the Grammys, actress and singer Selena Gomez posted a video crying over the deportations in what many referred to as a melodramatic attempt at garnering attention.
“The hat stays on. They tried to kill Trump. He’s still alive, thank God,” Joy Villa said during the interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “Because they tried to get rid of Trump, and now he’s still here, this hat’s not going anywhere. Like the red-hat army that we’ve seen. … There’s a lot of Latinos, a lot of Black Americans, a lot of artists who love Trump. So the hat stays on. We’re not going to get our hats knocked off, hit off or threatened to take it off.”

She then added, “I think that the ones that are being deported should be deported. I’m a Latina. My family came to this country legally. I love to see rapists, human traffickers deported. I don’t want to see them here. I want us to be free, for all colors, for all people. That’s what makes America great again. So we can create, so we can live. As an artist, as a musician, I want to be able to walk at night and not think that I’m going to get killed by an illegal alien. So those are the people getting deported, those are the people that should get deported.”

During President Trump’s first term in the Oval Office, Villa sported a dress to the Grammys that said, “Make America Great Again,”.
Not everyone feels the same way about the immigration policies being implemented by the Trump administration. In Texas, a group of Latinos held a protest against the mass deportations being carried out across the country.
Many of those in attendance hailed from Mexico, Honduras, and El Salvador, among many other South American nations. Fortune reported that the protesters marched to Hermann Park in the city of Houston, chanting, “We are not leaving” and “Long live the migrants.”
“I’m here to be a voice for the voiceless, for people that are scared right now,” protester Alexandria Pike, 34, said during comments given to the media. Pike then said that her grandmother first came to the U.S. illegally while pregnant with her mom in order to “give all of our generations a better life.”
“I want Donald Trump to stop mass deportations now, leave children alone, stay out of school, stay out of places of worship, and all these spaces, and just leave the people alone,” she concluded.
