Why Did Melania Trump Renegotiate Her Prenup Agreement?

Share

Sources are reporting that Melania Trump recently renegotiated her marriage agreement with the 45th President.

She reportedly cited leaving a decent-sized trust fund for their son, Barron Trump, as one of the primary motivators for the re-negotiation of her prenup, as well as potential legal trouble.

The New York Post had the scoop: “Melania Trump ‘quietly’ renegotiated prenup with Donald ahead of potential second presidential term, legal woes: sources.”

Independent journalist Chris Nelson took it as a sign of trouble for President Trump, Nelson speculated: “Donald and Melania Trump’s marriage is effectively over. As with his other wives, she’s getting a pretty sweet deal. Instead of donating to Trump you might as well just give it to Melania.”

Page Six of The New York Post broke the story:

A different source told us of the new agreement, “I know that she wanted it to provide her with more money, and also — from what I understand — there’s a specific amount at minimum that Barron is supposed to obtain.”

The first source said that the timing of the updated agreement wasn’t only because Trump, 77, could potentially serve another term, but because of his recent legal battles as well.

People Magazine claimed that the former First Lady was ‘distancing’ herself both physically and otherwise from the 45th President.

Left leaning outlet Daily Beast explained: “It’s believed to be at least the third time the couple has renegotiated their prenup.”

In August, Mirror alleged:

Insiders claim the couple were living together at Mar-A-Lago but their paths “barely cross”.

Some reports claim Melania is focusing on raising their 17-year-old son Barron above all else.

There are also rumours that Melania is considering divorcing Donald and renegotiated her prenup with him once they moved into the White House.
