On Wednesday, leading 2024 presidential candidate and 45th President  Donald Trump took his top-rated social media platform, Truth Social, and posted a photoshopped photo of himself as speaker of the House amid a scramble to get a new House speaker.

This comes after now ex-House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was ousted on Tuesday after Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and his allies successfully removed him. McCarthy has made history as the first House speaker ever to be fired from his post.

Earlier on Wednesday, after sitting in court for his New York fraud case, Trump spoke to reporters outside of the courtroom and didn’t rule out being speaker of the House.

“A lot of people have been calling me about speaker. All I can say is that we will do what is best for the country and for the Republican Party,” Trump said.
“We have some great, great people,” Trump added.

“A lot of people have asked me about it. Look, I’m focused and I’m leading by 50 points for president. My focus is totally on that. If I can help them during the process, I would do it. But we have some great people in the Republican Party,” Trump said.

Trump has been nominated for House speaker by many Republican representatives including Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX), who wrote in a post on Tuesday, “Kevin McCarthy will NOT be running again as Speaker. I nominate Donald J. Trump for Speaker of the House.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) told Real America’s Voice host Dr. Gina Loudon on Wednesday she also is supporting Trump for speaking, telling Dr. Gina, “I’m supporting President Donald J. Trump to be the next Speaker of the House!”

“He has a proven four-year record of putting America First and implementing the policies the American people want. President Trump is the man for the job,” she added.

On Tuesday, President Trump questioned why Republicans are “always” infighting, instead of focusing on fighting Democrats who are “destroying” America.

This came before House lawmakers are set to vote on a motion from Rep. Matt Gaetz to advance a vote to oust House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. In a blow to Kevin McCarthy, the House failed to stop the effort by Rep. Gaetz to oust him as speaker with 208 to 218. In addition to all Democrats voting against the speaker, 11 Republicans voted against the motion to table.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “Why is it that Republicans are always fighting among themselves, why aren’t they fighting the Radical Left Democrats who are destroying our Country?”
