The Iowa caucus begins tomorrow, and with it, the battle for the GOP primary takes off.

Just a day before the caucus takes off, Senator Rubio has come out for a surprise endorsement.

Big hint: it’s not DeSantis!

That’s right, the Florida Senator has officially endorsed President Trump!

The folks at Fox News share more:

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., threw his support behind former President Donald Trump on Sunday, just a day ahead of the Iowa Caucuses.

Rubio announced his support of the former president in a post on X, saying when Trump was in the White House, the senator was able to see success with policies he worked on for years because the U.S. had a president who did not cave to special interests or let bureaucrats block them.

Rubio pointed to the expanded child tax credit and tougher sanctions on regimes in Cuba and Venezuela, as policies he worked on that were successful when Trump was president.

“I support Trump because that kind of leadership is the only way we will get the extraordinary actions needed to fix the disaster Biden has created,” Rubio said. “It’s time to get on with the work of beating Biden & saving America.”

People have pointed out the upset this must be causing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis:

More from Politico:

The Senator campaigned for reelection with both Ron DeSantis and Trump in 2022 — and received a 2016 endorsement for his presidential campaign from then-South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, making it unclear who he would back for the 2024 GOP nomination.

But on Sunday, a day before the Iowa caucus, he threw his support behind the former present.

Rubio explained his decision in a post on X, citing his work with Trump to double the child tax credit in the 2017 tax reform bill, as well as sanctions Trump placed on Cuba and Venezuela when he was in the White House.

Senator Rubio hasn’t always strongly supported President Trump, but that doesn’t mean people can’t change.

It’s a fact that President Trump made sure to utilize his presidency effectively.

Many good changes happened when President Trump was in the White House.

Even if you don’t like the way President Trump speaks or any other gripe, like Rubio, you have to admit the great stuff he did in office.
