WATCH: Video Leaks Of Tucker Carlson Fuming In Apparent ‘Sabotage’ After Fox News Ousting
Speculation as to why Fox News would fire one of its highest-rated hosts has been rampant since Tucker Carlson was let go from the network. The move to oust Carlson has not been a good one for the network so far, and recent ratings are showing the result of the action.
A poll by Rasmussen Reports said that Carlson remains popular among conservative and Republican likely voters.
“Fifty-nine percent (59%) of Likely U.S. voters have a favorable impression of Carlson, including 36% who have a Very Favorable opinion of him,” the polling firm noted.
“Thirty-four percent (34%) view Carlson unfavorably, including 25% with a Very Unfavorable impression,” the firm added in a release.
Fox News now has a lower approval from likely voters, with only 52% of voters viewing the network favorably and 24% very favorably, decidedly lower than Carlson’s numbers. Among likely voters, 42% viewed Fox News unfavorably, with 28% having a very unfavorable view.
When it comes to the impact of Carlson’s firing from the network, only 19 percent of voters thought it would have a positive effect on the network.
In contrast, 32 percent believed that his departure would actually lower the quality of the news platform. On the other hand, 42 percent of voters did not think that Carlson’s exit would make any significant difference to Fox.
As the public waits to see where Carlson will land next, a leaked video from the set of Tucker Carlson’s “Fox Nation” show showed the ex-host criticizing the network’s streaming platform. The video was released to the watchdog group Media Matters and features Carlson speaking on the phone with an unidentified person while on the set of his program, “Tucker Carlson Today.”
Conservative Brief reported: “The conversation appeared to coincide with Carlson’s interview with controversial influencer Andrew Tate, whose misogynistic views went viral last year, months before his arrest in Romania as part of a human trafficking and rape investigation. Although the video is not dated, Media Matters noted that Carlson’s interview with Tate aired in August 2022,” Mediaite reported.
“I don’t want to be a slave to Fox Nation, which I don’t think that people watch anyway,” Carlson said during the call, which was taking place on speaker phone. “We’re gonna — because, you know, I’m like a representative of the American media now, speaking to an exile in Romania and welcoming him back into the brotherhood of journalists.”
The topic seemed to be Carlson’s attire as well as where the show would air.
“Yeah. It would help us out if you wore a sweater though, because we asked him not to wear a suit,” said an unidentified voice during the call. “Like he was panicking about it and we said, ‘You don’t have to. Tucker’s gonna be looking casual. That’s just how our show looks.’ Is that okay? I mean, this is airing on the nighttime show, and I want it to look official. I don’t want it to be like bro talk. You know what I mean?” Carlson said.
At that point, the unknown speaker on the phone said that if the interview went past 45 minutes it would be aired on Fox Nation. “But nobody’s gonna watch it on Fox Nation. Nobody watches Fox Nation because the site sucks. So I’d really like to just put the — dump the whole thing on YouTube,” Carlson said.
“But anyway, that’s just my view. I’m just frustrated with — it’s hard to use that site. I don’t know why they’re not fixing it. It’s driving me insane. And they’re like making like Lifetime movies, but they don’t work on the infrastructure of the site. Like what? It’s crazy. And it drives me crazy ’cause it’s like we’re doing all this extra work, and no one can find it.”
“It’s unbelievable, actually. I don’t know who runs that site,” an obviously frustrated Carlson added.

The unknown person explained to Carlson that a “sizeable” portion of his interview with Tate would be played on his Fox News show, “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” in order to drive audience traffic to watch the full episode on Fox Nation.
“I know, but we’re doing our part. We’re like working like animals to produce all this content and the people in charge of it, whoever that guy’s — whatever his name is, like they’re ignoring the fact that the site doesn’t work, and I think it’s like a betrayal of our efforts. That’s how I feel. So, of course, I resent it,” Carlson said.
Media Matters noted:
The interview in question appears to be with Tate, a Romania-based right-wing social media star whom Carlson gave a friendly August 2022 Tucker Carlson Today interview about Tate’s bannings from several platforms for misogynist content. Tate appeared in a T-shirt, while Carlson wore a sweater. After Carlson aired part of the interview on his Fox News show, he put up a chyron which read, “Go watch the full Andrew Tate interview on Fox Nation right after this show.”
