Legal analyst Julie Kelly, providing further details mentioned that an FBI document categorized numerous photos taken from Melania’s room, focusing on the binders. “There are dozens of photos taken out of Melania’s Room, and several taken out of Baron’s Room. I don’t know exactly what they were,” Kelly said.
“So what were they doing in Melania’s suite?” Kelly asked. “And why were they taking pictures of binders that she had in her bedroom? So that again.”

The raid, which took place on August 8, 2022, was initiated to recover classified materials allegedly retained unlawfully by Trump. A federal judge approved the search warrant based on evidence suggesting that Trump had not returned these materials despite multiple requests from the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). The FBI’s objective was clear: to secure the classified documents they believed were improperly stored at the former president’s Palm Beach estate.
The Biden administration’s preparations for potential casualties further amplify the raid’s severity. The DOJ and the FBI had notified a local trauma unit to be on standby, ready to handle any injuries that might occur during the operation. This readiness for violence highlights the extreme measures federal authorities were willing to take. The decision to conduct the raid was defended by Attorney General Merrick Garland, who claimed it was based on specific credible evidence that classified documents were improperly stored.
However, the controversial nature of the raid and the subsequent revelations have only fueled further debate. “I personally approved to seek a search warrant in this matter,” Garland said at the time of the raid. “The Department does not take such decision lightly.”
The raid has been widely criticized as a politically motivated attack. Trump and his supporters have argued that the raid was an unnecessary escalation in enforcing laws regarding the handling of classified materials, which are typically managed through subpoenas and cooperation.
