CNN Debate Moderator’s Ex-Husband Revealed As One Of 51 Spies Who Lied About Hunter’s Laptop
It has come to light that Jeremy Bash, the former husband of CNN debate moderator Dana Bash, is one of the 51 intelligence officials who signed a letter in 2020 falsely claiming that Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian disinformation. First reported by The Gateway Pundit, the discovery could make people question whether Dana Bash can stay unbiased while moderating CNN’s upcoming presidential debate this Thursday.
Jeremy Bash, a former Chief of Staff at the CIA and current national security analyst for NBC News and MSNBC, was among those who played a key role in misleading the American public during a critical election period. The letter was widely cited by media outlets to dismiss the Hunter Biden laptop story. The timing of the news is particularly concerning as Dana Bash prepares to moderate the crucial debate between former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden.
The letter referred to was signed by more than 50 former senior intelligence officials, including prominent figures like former CIA Directors John Brennan and Leon Panetta. Released in October 2020, shortly after the New York Post published articles about Hunter Biden’s laptop, the letter expressed skepticism about the origins of the laptop and its contents. The signatories claimed that the story bore “all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.”
The officials made it clear they did not have evidence confirming Russian involvement but highlighted their “expertise” in recognizing the methods and tactics of Russian disinformation. They went on to claim that the timing and nature of the laptop’s appearance warranted suspicion and caution, urging consideration of the possibility that it could be intended to influence the presidential election. This played a significant role in shaping the media and public opinion surrounding the story at the time.
Roger Stone, a prominent Trump ally, voiced his concerns, stating, “How can CNN debate moderator Dana Bash be impartial in questioning Trump? She was married to Trump-bashing Russiagate conspiracist, Biden donor, and Brennan aide Jeremy Bash, who signed the 2020 intel statement falsely insisting Hunter’s laptop was Russian disinformation.”

This isn’t the first time CNN’s credibility has been called into question. The network has previously faced allegations of leaking debate questions to Hillary Clinton’s campaign in advance. Trump is likely to call out any potential glaring conflict of interest during the debate.
Recently, the network’s leadership has been under fire as they stand by their two anchors assigned to moderate the upcoming first presidential debate of the general election. Monday’s interview on CNN’s morning show turned heated when host Kasie Hunt clashed with Trump campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, who sharply criticized debate moderator Jake Tapper.
“Jake Tapper and Dana Bash are well respected veteran journalists who have covered politics for more than five decades combined,” CNN relayed in a statement earlier. “They have extensive experience moderating major political debates, including CNN’s Republican Presidential Primary Debate this cycle. There are no two people better equipped to co-moderate a substantial and fact-based discussion and we look forward to the debate on June 27 in Atlanta.”
