Gaetz: McCarthy Made a Secret, Side Deal To FUND Ukraine

Share

Congressman Matt Gaetz has been warning us about House Speaker Kevin McCarthy since before McCarthy got the job.

Gaetz does not believe that McCarthy has the best interests of the American people in mind, and once again, he appears to be correct.

With expectations of an imminent government shutdown looming, a last-minute spending bill was pushed through to keep it up and running for at least another 45 days.

It appears that McCarthy also cut a side deal to continue funding Ukraine.

That deal plays to the tune of an additional $6 BILLION in funding to the country.

It must also be noted that the last minute bill completely neglects border security for the United States.

This proves once again that very few politicians on either side care about putting America first.

The Gateway Pundit has this developing story:

Earlier today the US House of Representatives passed a last-minute spending bill to keep the government funded for an additional 45 days, narrowly averting a government shutdown that would have commenced at 12:01 a.m. The bill, spearheaded by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), now heads to the Senate, where it is expected to pass.

With a 335-91 vote, the House approved a 45-day temporary funding measure that excludes border security and $6 billion in funding for Ukraine.

The bill includes provisions for disaster relief funds that likely swayed some Democrats to vote in favor.

Matt Gaetz once again brings attention to McCarthy’s underhandedness:

The Washington Examiner has more from Gaetz:

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) accused House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) of making a “Ukraine deal with Democrats” after passing the 45-day continuing resolution, which did not include funding for Ukraine.

Gaetz pointed to a joint statement from House Democratic leadership, where they said they “expect Speaker McCarthy to advance a bill to the House floor for an up-or-down vote that supports Ukraine.”

“Wow. [McCarthy] made a side Ukraine deal with Democrats and didn’t tell House Republicans until after his Continuing Resolution passed. More deceit,” Gaetz wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
