‘Incredibly Disrespectful’: Karine Jean-Pierre Blasted For Remarks About Fallen Soldiers
The incoherence of the Biden administration, particularly through the mouth of its mumbling press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, is nothing new. When she was asked in an interview to respond to the recent drone attack that left three U.S. service members dead, however, her bumbling response was more than just hard to follow.
As transcribed by TheBlaze:
What I will say, our deepest, uh, obviously, our deepest condolences go out and our heartfelt condolences go out to the families, uh, who lost, uh, three, three brave, uh, three brave, uh, three brave — three folks who are military folks who are brave, who are always fighting, who are fighting on behalf of this administration, of the American people, obviously, more so, more importantly.
Uh, we lost those souls as the president said yesterday when he was in South Carolina. Our hearts go out to their families and friends. And let’s not forget: there are wounded, also wounded soldier, military forces as well, and our hearts go out to them, and so I want to make sure that we offer up those deep, uh, deep thoughtful condolences to them.
Jean-Pierre was immediately criticized not only for struggling to string enough words together for a rational sentence, but also for insisting that service members are fighting “on behalf of” the Biden White House.
A number of prominent military and political figures weighed in on social media:
Note to the Press Secretary @PressSec:
These are not “folks”. They are service members who gave their lives NOT for this administration, but for the Country they serve!
They are our best and deserve better than this. https://t.co/abbr7yVY2A

Our service members swear an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States. They are not fighting “on behalf of” the Biden team.
This is incredibly disrespectful. https://t.co/66fWflPF9i

Folks, this is what she’s like during every single White House press briefing. She frequently gets tenses wrong, makes things plural or singular when they shouldn’t be, and uses wrong words. It’s impressive how bad she is. https://t.co/ctoqMDXT2k

Newsweek tracked down a few other statements criticizing Jean-Pierre’s statement:
Jeremy Redfern, press secretary for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, called out Jean-Pierre’s comments, writing on X, “Say what you will about this word salad, but the idea that anyone in the military is fighting on behalf of any administration is precisely what is wrong with the DC ruling class. Disgusting comment by @PressSec.”
Media Research Center, a watchdog group, wrote: “Wrong, Karine. Our service members signed up to serve their Country; they died because of your administration.”
Conservative media company, Proud Elephant, criticized the press secretary’s use of the word “folks” writing on X, “KJP gives half-a**ed condolences to ‘three folks who are military folks who are brave who are always fighting, who were fighting on behalf of this administration.’ ‘Folks’? Wow. That’s low even for KJP. Show some damn respect for once!”
While X user ZNO commented, “KJP’s brain is literally fighting with her to not say words that would commemorate the 3 dead servicemen. This is how much they hate you. This is how much they hate this country. Their bodies reject it. The Biden administration is a disgrace and a stain on this country.”
