Is DeSantis Dropping Out? Latest Campaign Move Sparks Rumors
Is Ron DeSantis about to call it quits?
Many people believe that is the case after the DeSantis campaign’s latest announcement to cancel all of Sunday’s press appearances.
The Florida governor was originally scheduled to appear on NBC’s Meet the Press and CNN’s State of the Union tomorrow.
But, he abruptly canceled both commitments – just DAYS before the New Hampshire primary.

This news has fueled rumors that DeSantis is about to drop his bid for the 2024 presidency.
Take a look at the speculation on social media:
I’m hearing that DeSantis is about to drop out. He’s the best governor in America. He can be proud of that & return to doing that. Resist the urge to taunt. Biden is the enemy. Embrace the gov’s supporters, crush Halery, proceed to November. Stay focused on the prize.

It sounds like Ron is about to drop out. He’s probably being told to leave the race as a way to try to help Nikki’s numbers.

Both Trump and DeSantis held campaign events this weekend.
But, there was a HUGE difference in supporter turnout…

His strategy was bold. Focus all your efforts on one state.
Despite his efforts, it failed.
The voters do not want DeSantis in 2024.
Photos like these are embarrassing and are furthering the damage to his future political career.
Have some grace and dignity and drop out. pic.twitter.com/VMJh3aNbAm

Despite the rumors that it’s just about over for DeSantis, his press secretary insists that the cancellations were due to a “scheduling issue” and that there are plans to reschedule:
The media hits were canceled due to a scheduling issue and will be rescheduled.
The governor will be traveling Sunday morning with the campaign and has public events scheduled Sunday evening through Tuesday in NH.

As Fox News reported:
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis canceled two TV appearances scheduled for Sunday due to a scheduling issue, his campaign confirmed Saturday.
“The media hits were canceled due to a scheduling issue and will be rescheduled,” DeSantis press secretary Bryan Griffin posted on X, formerly Twitter.
He added that the GOP presidential candidate DeSantis will be, “traveling Sunday morning with the campaign and has public events scheduled Sunday evening through Tuesday” in New Hampshire, where the nation’s first 2024 primary will be held.
The governor was expected to appear on NBC’s “Meet the Press” and CNN’s “State of the Union” with Jake Tapper on Sunday, but both shows confirmed on X that the campaign had canceled.
DeSantis focused his campaign efforts on South Carolina this weekend, which may have contributed to the supposed “scheduling conflicts.”
Local news station KESQ commented on this:
With most of the political world closely watching New Hampshire this weekend, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis instead spent Saturday 900 miles away in South Carolina, laying the groundwork for his presidential campaign’s last stand.
“I’m asking for your support as we get into this primary next month,” DeSantis told supporters at a Florence restaurant. “I’ll be a candidate that will be able to bring our party together up and down the ballot, just like I did in Florida. I will always be a candidate that you can be proud of. As president, I will get the job done.”
In a marker of the confusion surrounding his unclear path forward, DeSantis’ campaign late Saturday was still scrambling to figure out which state their candidate would appear in on Sunday. The scheduling fluctuations resulted in DeSantis abruptly canceling plans to appear Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” and NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
What do you think?
Is Ron DeSantis about to drop out of the race?
If so, will Nikki Haley follow in his footsteps?
