Obama Is ‘Furious’ With Biden’s Decision To Endorse Kamala Harris

A “source close to the Biden family” told the New York Post that former President Barack Obama does not believe Kamala Harris can win and is “furious” that Biden opted to endorse her.

In the wake of President Biden’s unprecedented resignation via X post, a number of key Democrat leaders have rallied around Vice President Harris , including the president. Former President Barack Obama was a notable exception, however, as he failed to mention Harris in a statement released this past Sunday.

“We will be navigating uncharted waters in the days ahead. But I have extraordinary confidence that the leaders of our party will be able to create a process from which an outstanding nominee emerges,” Obama wrote. “I believe that Joe Biden’s vision of a generous, prosperous, and united America that provides opportunity for everyone will be on full display at the Democratic Convention in August. And I expect that every single one of us are prepared to carry that message of hope and progress forward into November and beyond.”

In reference to Vice President Harris, a source close to the Biden Family told the New York Post that Obama is “very upset because he knows she can’t win.”

“Obama knows she’s just incompetent — the border czar who never visited the border, saying that all migrants should have health insurance. She cannot navigate the landmines that are ahead of her,” the source said. “When you are running for president there are things you can and can’t say.”

Obama had reportedly hoped that an op-Ed published by Hollywood A-lister George Clooney would push Biden to drop out of the race. Clooney and a number of additional Hollywood stars had attended a rally hosted by Biden and Obama just weeks before the op-ed was published.

A debate between Trump and Harris — which is likely to take place in September — is a point of worry for Obama. “Wait until the debate… She can’t debate. She’s going to put her foot in her mouth about Israel, Palestine, Ukraine. She’s going to say something really stupid,” the source said.

“Obama knew this was going to happen, Joe knew this was going to happen. Now she is going to have to answer real questions.”

According to the source, Obama was caught off guard by Biden’s decision to endorse Harris roughly 15 minutes after announcing he would not be seeking re-election. Biden’s initial statement did not mention Harris, leaving Obama “furious” when he opted to back her candidacy.

“Obama is ‘furious,’ things haven’t gone his way, which is why he is not joining in the Democratic Party’s support of Harris,” the insider added.

“Obama being surprised by a smart political decision actually makes sense when coupled with his personal inability to see politics beyond his singular, immediate interests,” another high-profile Democrat source said.

“Obama always thinks he is the smartest and coolest guy in the room. He’s friends with George Clooney, after all.”
