Trump Demands Dropped Charges, ‘Monetary Damages’ Over Latest Fani Willis Allegations
Fulton County, Georgia, District Attorney Fani Willis is in danger of seeing her anti-Trump crusade fall apart over allegations that she maintained an improper relationship with a special prosecutor working on the election-interference case.
A number of sources are calling for her to be disqualified as a result, and Trump himself weighed in on the matter via social media.

According to Newsweek:
In August 2023, Trump and 18 others were indicted in Georgia over claims they broke the law while attempting to overturn Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential election victory in the state. The former president is facing 13 criminal charges in Georgia including an accusation that he violated the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, initially introduced to combat organized crime. Trump has pled not guilty to all counts and has repeatedly said that the case against him is politically motivated.
Reacting on his Truth Social website, Trump called for all the charges in the Georgia case to be dropped following the allegations against Willis.
The former president wrote: “ALL CHARGES AGAINST ME, AND OTHERS, SHOULD BE IMMEDIATELY DROPPED, WITH APOLOGIES, AND MONETARY DAMAGES FOR THE ILLEGAL AND HIGHLY POLITICAL PERSECUTION OF INNOCENT PEOPLE.”
Writing on microblogging website Threads, defense attorney and legal commentator Ken White said the allegations against Willis are “potentially catastrophic for the Fulton County case.” Any collapse of the Georgia case would be a major win for Trump, who, polling indicates, is by some margin the lead Republican candidate for the party’s 2024 presidential nomination.
Here’s some of the other reactions these allegations have sparked:

The claims stem from a complaint filed by one of Trump’s co-defendants in the case.
As NBC News reported:
In a 39-page filing seeking a dismissal of charges, an attorney for Trump co-defendant Michael Roman made accusations that Willis and Wade have traveled together to destinations including Napa Valley and that they’ve been seen together around Atlanta in a personal capacity.
The filing does not provide any direct evidence to support the claims — citing only “sources with knowledge” and raising questions about the process by which Willis hired Wade, who has represented the DA’s office in court proceedings for the case.
“The district attorney chose to appoint her romantic partner, who at all times relevant to this prosecution has been a married man,” attorney Ashleigh Merchant wrote.
