Trump Drops Hints About VP Choice: “People Won’t Be That Surprised”

President Trump just dropped some hints about who his running mate will be for 2024.

He already has someone in mind for the role, but he isn’t naming names yet.

Speaking to Fox News’ Brett Baier in New Hampshire, Trump revealed a few details:

“The person that I think I like is a very good person, a pretty standard. I think people won’t be that surprised, but I would say there’s probably a 25 percent chance that would be that person.”

We may have to wait awhile to find out the answer to the mystery…

Trump is in no hurry to make his final decision or announce his VP to the public. In his words:

“I may or may not really something over the next couple of months. There’s no rush to that. It won’t have any impact at all.”

The Hill has more details:

Former President Trump on Saturday suggested he has his pick for vice president and hinted people will not “be that surprised” by his choice of running mate.

Asked by Fox News chief political anchor Bret Baier in New Hampshire about when he will decide who could join him on the ticket if he secures the nomination, Trump said, “Well, it’s never really had that much of an effect on an election, which is an amazing thing, both election and primary. It’s never really had much of an effect.”

“I may or may not really [decide] something over the next couple of months. There’s no rush to that. It won’t have any impact at all. The person that I think I like is a very good person, a pretty standard. I think people won’t be that surprised, but I would say there’s probably a 25 percent chance that would be that person,” Trump continued.

Asked if Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) — who dropped out of the GOP primary race in November and endorsed Trump on Friday — is on the list, Trump described the senator as a “great guy” while highlighting other political figures from the Palmetto State.

The Messenger added:

Former President Donald Trump suggested that people won’t be “that surprised” by his running mate choice.

Asked by Fox News’ Bret Baier in New Hamshire Saturday about his potential running mate, the former president did not name anyone — but said he doubts that his selection will have any impact one way or another on his support,

“It’s never really had that much of an effect on an election, which is an amazing thing, both election and primary. It’s never really had much of an effect,” he said. So “there’s no rush to that. It won’t have any impact at all.”

Who do you think Trump will choose as his VP?
