WATCH: Alan Dershowitz Reveals Fani Willis Could Face CRIMINAL Charges

Alan Dershowitz, the Harvard Law School professor and legal mind behind many of former President Donald Trump’s maneuvers while in office, told Fox News host Sean Hannity that he believes Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis could face criminal charges over alleged false statements made about her personal relationship with fellow Trump prosecutor Nathan Wade.

Dershowitz, who was joined by former Trump advisor Stephen Miller, began by stating that the simple fact of a clandestine relationship with Willis and Wade should disqualify her from continuing her racketeering case against President Trump and 18 other co-defendants.

“It does require disqualification, even on this record,” he said, adding that Thursday’s evidentiary hearing will explore two facets: whether the hiring of Wade represented a personal benefit, which seems likely, and whether Willis or Wade perjured themselves when testifying under oath about their relationship.

“He allegedly stated under oath that their relationship became sexual only after he began working for her. If that’s not true, and there’s apparently a witness out there who’s willing to testify under oath that’s not true, we may end up having a criminal trial, but not of Donald Trump,” he added. “We may end up having a criminal trial of this couple for their perjury.”

Time will tell whether Fulton County Superior Judge Scott McAfee permits inquiry into the testimony by Willis and Wade about the timeline of their romantic involvement.

“You can’t allow the district attorney and a special district attorney to get away with perjury if in fact they committed perjury, and if they didn’t the record ought to be clear that they didn’t.”

Willis has been under tremendous local and national pressure to explain her relationship with Wade since the attorney for a Trump co-defendant first alleged that she was personally linked to Wade, who has made at least $728,000 from the case. Ashley Merchant, the attorney, alleges she has evidence that the couple spent taxpayer dollars on first-class airline tickets and other unnecessary items of material value.

The controversy has bubbled up so much that President Trump has told advisors he plans to attend Thursday’s hearing, trolling Willis as her private life is publicly dissected. The Republican leader has made court appearances in his various cases a staple of his campaign for the White House, drawing sensational press coverage as he portrays the various criminal cases as a combined “witch hunt” to prevent him from taking on President Joe Biden in November.

Separately, Willis is facing probes by the Georgia legislature and the U.S. House of Representatives into whether she misappropriated funds to continue her case against Trump and whether she improperly conspired with a federal special counsel to bring similar election interference charges at the state level. Willis has rebuffed criticism of her relationship with Wade as racially and politically motivated.
