WATCH: Golf Legend John Daly Calls For Trump’s Return: ‘I Pray To God He Wins’
Golf legend John Daly recently made headlines with his vocal support for former President Donald Trump, revealing his wish for Trump’s return to office. In an episode of Tucker Carlson’s show on X, Daly opened up about his political views and his long-standing relationship with Trump.
Daly’s endorsement of Trump stems from his view of a period of prosperity for the United States. “He was a great president…He’s a great guy once you get to know him,” Daly said.
“I’ve known him since the early 90s… Unbelievable smart individual that people got to get behind.”
“I pray to God he wins… Just for the satisfaction of bringing our country back together, get some common sense going in here again… How great was our country in the four years he was in office?” Daly continued.
Beyond politics, Daly also touched upon Trump’s golfing skills. He humorously critiqued Trump’s chipping, saying he needs to adjust his ball position.
“We all want daddy Trump back…He flew his helicopter in. We played a pro-am. We went out back. We talked a little bit. When he stood up, he says, ‘Mark my words, I’ll be president of the United States one day.’”
Trump and Daly have a relationship characterized by mutual respect and a shared interest in golf. Their relationship seems to have been primarily centered around their love for the sport. Daly has been seen playing golf with Trump on various occasions.
