One person in the crowd snapped a pot of Trump’s hands, and a close look at the photo reveals Trump has several red marks on his hand.
Liberal media outlets falsely claimed Trump has syphilis, but Dr. Joshua Zeichner told Business Insider there are three reasons why Trump has the red marks, and they are the following.
- Blisters from playing golf
- His hands are too dry
- He got lime juice on his hands

Former president Donald Trump displayed mysterious red marks on his hand when he left his New York residence on Wednesday to attend E. Jean Carroll’s second defamation trial.
As with Trump’s health in the past, people on X (formerly Twitter) were quick to speculate about what caused the marks. Some guessed that he had “hand herpes” or may have recently had a fall.
While it’s difficult to diagnose a skin condition from just one photo, Dr. Joshua Zeichner, an associate professor of dermatology at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, told Business Insider that Trump likely has a rash — which can be caused by almost anything.
“Rashes on the hands can be caused by a variety of factors, ranging from infections to inflammatory conditions to external exposures,” Zeichner said.
