Bill Maher Says Stormy Daniels Was A ‘Horrible Witness’
“Real Time” host Bill Maher appeared to concede that Democrat-led lawfare against former President Donald Trump is backfiring as Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s “hush money” case continues to stall. Maher lamented how Democrats “blew it at every turn” when it comes to the Trump criminal trials, adding that Stormy Daniels was a “horrible witness.”
“I mean the Democrats have had four years to put Trump on trial and it is all just going away. They blew it at every,” Maher said. He then pointed to Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ RICO case against Trump and his allies, which has been stalling for weeks due to misconduct in the DA’s office.
“Now she’s the prosecutor, she’s having an affair with the guy she hired. I mean it’s not really relevant to the case, but they left an opening. And now that one’s going to be delayed,” Maher continued. “So it’s Stormy or bust.”
Maher expressed that he was less than impressed with Daniels’ testimony, which took place earlier this week. The former adult film star largely discussed alleged sexual encounters with the former president nearly two decades ago, at many points making jokes.
When discussing her role in the trial, Maher played a clip from Daniels’ appearance on his show back in 2018. “. I mean I wasn’t assaulted, I wasn’t attacked or raped or coerced or blackmailed. “They tried to shove me in the me too box in front of their own agenda and first of all I didn’t want any part of that because it’s not the truth and I’m not a victim in that regard,” Daniels said at the time.
The HBO host went on to describe Daniels as a “horrible witness” when contrasting her past statements with her current role in the trial.
“That’s not what she’s saying though,” he said. “She’s talking about he was bigger and blocking the way. It’s all the “me too” buzzwords. She said there was a power imbalance of power for sure. My hands were shaking so hard. She said she blacked out. Blacked out? She’s a porn star.”
“So, I just think this is, I just think she’s not a good witness,” Maher went on to say.
