UPDATE: “40 Beheaded Babies” Journalist Backtracks, Issues Correction

I said it once today, I’ll say it again—the first casualty of war is the truth.

Governments are infamous for outright lying to their people through false flag events and creating atrocity propaganda to manipulate emotions and manufacture consent for war.

The mainstream media is complicit in this propaganda and without them, it just wouldn’t be possible at all.

CNN has long been known as one of the most egregious offenders when it comes to manufacturing consent for the state.

Several days ago, the outlet chose to spread the narrative that the Israeli government discovered and confirmed that they found more than 40 beheaded babies purportedly killed by Hamas.

Now, that same journalist has completely backtracked on her earlier claims.

Sara Sidner, the journalist who planted the story and initially made the claims in the American MSM, issued this correction on Thursday:

“Yesterday the Israeli Prime Minister’s office said that it had confirmed Hamas beheaded babies & children while we were live on the air.

The Israeli government now says today it CANNOT confirm babies were beheaded. I needed to be more careful with my words and I am sorry.”

The story was widely aired and circulated by virtually every outlet in the mainstream media and many in the independent media as well.

NBC Montana echoed the claims initially made by mainstream media sources:

Nicole Zedeck, a correspondent for Israeli television channel i24NEWS, described the scene as “truly horrific.”

“No one could expect that it would be like this, the horrors that I’m hearing from these soldiers,” Zedeck said.

“As I mentioned earlier, about 40 babies, at least, were taken out on gurneys … you continue to see just cribs overturned, strollers left behind, all of these doors left wide open.”

Jackson Hinkle states: “The US lied about Iraq. The US lied about Syria. The US lied about Libya. The US lied about Kuwait. The US lied about Ukraine. The US lied about Afghanistan. But you think they’re telling the truth about Israel – Palestine & 40 beheaded babies? Give me a break.”

CNN issued the correction in this follow-up piece:

The Israeli government has not confirmed the specific claim that Hamas attackers cut off the heads of babies during their shock attack on Saturday, an Israeli official told CNN, contradicting a previous public statement by the Prime Minister’s office.

“There have been cases of Hamas militants carrying out beheadings and other ISIS-style atrocities.

However, we cannot confirm if the victims were men or women, soldiers or civilians, adults or children,” the official said.
