Trump releases July 4th message declaring ‘we are Americans and the future belongs to us’
Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump released a Fourth of July message Thursday on his Truth Social platform sounding optimism about the future of America.
“We will never forget that we are Americans and the future belongs to us,” Trump said in his post.
The video shows Trump at a rally in Washington, D.C. with footage of his supporters, the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument.
“Together we are part of one of the greatest stories ever told: the story of America,” the former president said. “It is the epic tale of a great nation whose people have risked everything for what they know is right and what they know is true.”
He praised the Founding Fathers, saying they pledged their lives and fortunes and honor to declare Independence and defend America’s God-given rights.
“To every citizen throughout our land, have a glorious Independence Day,” Trump said. “Have a great Fourth of July.”
