‘He Went To The Wrong Place’: Trump Mocks Hunter Biden For Skipping House Deposition
House Republicans subpoenaed Hunter Biden to sit down for a closed-door deposition this week, but he instead staged a PR stunt on Capitol Hill.
After lashing out at those lawmakers investigating his father’s role in his shady financial deals, former President Donald Trump took aim at the younger Biden.
According to Fox News:
“Did you see Hunter today, right?” Trump said. “He went to the wrong place. He went to the Senate instead of the House.”
“Everyone’s saying, ‘Where’s Hunter?’ See, it always gets, ‘Where’s Hunter?’” the former president continued. “What a two-tier system of justice we have.”
Trump’s comments came the same day that the younger Biden skipped his House deposition, instead giving a press conference on the Senate side of the Capitol.
While they occupy the same building, the House and Senate are separate parts of the Legislative Branch.
Of course, plenty of others blasted Biden for defying the subpoena.
A staged press conference is NOT under oath.
There’s a reason why Hunter skipped the closed-door deposition, he would have pleaded the fifth to avoid lying under oath.

A witness does not get to determine the manner and method in which they provide evidence. If subpoenaed, you musta appear – not stage a press conference outside of the deposition you’re skipping.
Hunter Biden must be prosecuted for Contempt of Congress.

Hunter Biden can be cocky because he knows the establishment has his back, and crooked Joe would pardon him if necessary.

For his part, Biden has demanded a public hearing, which would inevitably devolve into a political sideshow, rather than a closed-door hearing where lawmakers might actually get to the bottom of some important matters.
As Politico reported:
“Here I am, Mr. Chairman, taking up your offer when you said we can bring these people in for depositions or committee hearings, whichever they choose. Well, I’ve chosen. I’m here to testify in a public hearing today to answer any of the committee’s legitimate questions,” Hunter Biden said at a press conference near the Capitol.
“Republicans do not want an open process where Americans can see their tactics. … What are they afraid of? I’m here. I’m ready,” he added.
The two Republicans leading the investigation — Comer and Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) — said Wednesday morning that they would move toward holding Hunter Biden in contempt.
With the House leaving town this week until January, that fight is likely to drag into next year. And Comer and Jordan need near unanimity among the House GOP to ultimately hold the younger Biden in contempt of Congress. Though even if they clear that hurdle, there’s no guarantee the Justice Department would ultimately decide to prosecute him.
And the two chairs indicated that they will try again to get Hunter Biden to speak to them behind closed doors after the House votes to formalize their impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. That vote is expected later Wednesday. Republicans are confident they’ll be able to pass it, with only Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.) viewed as a potential no vote.
“Once we take that vote, we expect him to come in for his interview — for his deposition. And frankly, we’ll also look at contempt proceedings as we move forward,” Jordan said.
