Trump Supporters are Roasting DeSantis Over His Silence in the Face of Arrest Rumors

Share

Trump supporters are increasingly demanding that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis break his perceived silence in the face of unconfirmed reports that former President Donald Trump is about to be arrested this week.

After DeSantis’ latest post on social media platform Twitter in regards to Hurricane Ian, increasingly frustrated Trump supporters unloaded on the governor.

“When Hurricane Ian hit, we worked around the clock to restore the Pine Island Bridge and Sanibel Causeway so residents could return home,” DeSantis’ account said. “In record time, these bridges were restored. We deliver results for Floridians.”

“Getting ratioed. Should put out a statement about the insanity of Alvin,” Josh Barnett retorted with a reference to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

“Are you going to take up for Trump’s on his bogus NYC protection?” Kyle Hunter replied. “If not, let’s be clear Ron, you’ll be next on some rogue prosecutor’s docket and your political career is done. Trust me on this. TAKE A STAND RON!”

“Hey, Ron,” Isabella Riley remarked. “Remember Trump? The man who made your political career??? Do you have ANYTHING to say about the utter INJUSTICE happening to him right now? No. You care more about your own political career than the fate of our country. You’ll never become President.”

“You are an incredible governor but if you don’t stand up for equal justice under the law and you don’t stand against the weaponization of our own government against its citizens many people who love you will never ever forget it,” said anonymous account Insurrection Barbie. “Do the right thing.”

“Your silence SPEAKS VOLUMES to your entire base,” Crystal Hope argued. “You are making a grave decision by not addressing the current corruption. By staying silent, we know you are bought and paid for, which is horrifying for the future of this country.”

“Where’s your comment on the political persecution of @realDonaldTrump?” Alex Bruesewitz shot back. “Remember him? You used him to advance your political career. You’re a fraud.”

There was some pushback against demands that DeSantis issue a statement on the issue.

“Trump has relentlessly smeared him, filed an ethics complaint and now you want him to come to his aid?” Szymon Thomas said. “Lol. He should make a statement about this political witch hunt but DeSantis has no obligation to defend Trump himself.”

Raheem Kassam, editor-in-chief of the National Pulse, noted that the comments were “brutal.”

Mike Cernovich, in separate post, suggested that it would be the “Easiest win that DeSantis could take right now” to issue a supportive statement.

Popular Twitter account Catturd also had a critical take.

“You know I’m 100% Trump 2024 but I still love DeSantis as my Governor – but if DeSantis doesn’t come out soon and make a bold statement against this political witch hunt against Trump – the primary is already over,” the pundit said. “This is 1,000 times bigger than any Presidential primary. Our country can’t survive with this communist two-tiered justice system. I’m watching this closely to see who will stand on principle, no matter the political fallout, and who will not. This is about saving our country from the enemy from within – not one person’s political future.”

Donald Trump has been vocal about his belief that he is about to be arrested on Tuesday, based on alleged “illegal leaks” out of the Manhattan’s District Attorney office.

Trump announced on Saturday that “ILLEGAL LEAKS” from Bragg’s office suggested he would be arrested Tuesday:

NOW ILLEGAL LEAKS FROM A CORRUPT & HIGHLY POLITICAL MANHATTAN DISTRICT ATTORNEYS OFFICE, WHICH HAS ALLOWED NEW RECORDS TO BE SET IN VIOLENT CRIME & WHOSE LEADER IS FUNDED BY GEORGE SOROS, INDICATE THAT, WITH NO CRIME BEING ABLE TO BE PROVEN, & BASED ON AN OLD & FULLY DEBUNKED (BY NUMEROUS OTHER PROSECUTORS!) FAIRYTALE, THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!

Bragg is allegedly preparing to indict the GOP presidential candidate “for alleged hush money payments Trump made as a presidential candidate in 2016” to pornstar Stormy Daniels, as Fox News reported.

Fox News is also reporting that the Trump campaign is “walking back” his comments that he is about to be arrested. R

Ron DeSantis is holding a press conference tomorrow at 10 am eastern on an unrelated matter. It will be interesting to see if the Florida governor comments or even if Trump’s arrest actually takes place.
