In a viral moment captured during a commercial break for the fourth GOP debate on Thursday, a visibly irked Chris Christie approached the moderator table and exchanged words with Megyn Kelly.

Keep in mind that this happened just after Christie’s heated exchange with Vivek Ramaswamy – you know, the one where Ramaswamy told him to “Do everybody a favor, walk yourself off this stage, enjoy a nice meal, and get the hell out of this race.”

The original video did not pick up on what Christie said, but led to widespread online speculation as it made its rounds on social media.

But now, Megyn Kelly has opened up about the true reason why he confronted her.

Discussing the incident on The Megyn Kelly show, she said that Chris Christie “was pissed off. He was mad that he wasn’t getting enough questions and he said, ‘you know, I made it up on this stage and I haven’t been able to speak in a while and, you know, I should’ve been brought in on that last debate.’ And you know, I had a couple minds of it. I said ‘we’re coming to you. You’re gonna be happy in the second hour,’ which I lived up to.”

“He was pissed off. Kelly addressed a viral clip that captured Christie talking to her at the moderator table on SiriusXM’s The Megyn Kelly Show. Christie used the first break to approach Kelly, “getting up in my grill,” according to the moderator.

“There was also such a speculation about what was happening there. I will tell you what was happening there. It was not off the record. He was pissed off. He was mad that he wasn’t getting enough questions,” Kelly said. “And he said, ‘I made it up in this stage and I haven’t been able to speak in a while and you know I should’ve been brought in on that last debate.’”
